Our Story
In the Paws of Angels began in 2012 with founder Sam Gallagher’s dream to train exceptional Assistance and Therapy Dogs, inspired by her own Medical Alert Service Dog, Huckleberry, who played a pivotal role in the organisation’s early days. Although Huckleberry passed in 2023, his legacy lives on through Sam’s breeding of golden retriever puppies from assistance dog lines. Celebrating over a decade as a registered charity with DGR status, the organisation has expanded from training dogs for veterans to working with children and adults with Autism and other disabilities such as mobility issues, anxiety, depression, POTS, FND, MS, and various neurological disorders.
